Newsletters are published and mailed four times a year: the first of January; March; July; and September. They precede the Adventures in Learning sessions in February; April; August; and October.
Members are asked to please keep their mailing addresses current with the office. If you have a friend that would like to become active in Shepherd's Center, please email the office shepherdstopeka@yahoo.com or call the office 785-267-0248 with their name, address and phone number. Persons will receive the newsletter for one year, after which time if they have not attended SCT, their name will be dropped from the database.
Four committees provide support for the staff and makes "Adventures in Learning!" happen:
HOSPITALITY is responsible for assisting Community Partners, and acting as hosts during Brunch;
FACILITY MGMT is responsible for set-up, tear-down and waste management in the hospitality areas;
REGISTRATION is responsible for enrollment in classes, nametags, and newsletter mailings;
PROGRAMS is responsible for planning each sessions offering, including contacting speakers and scheduling facilitators.
There are plenty of opportunities to become involved, which is where friendships are made. Annually our volunteers are shown appreciation at a Volunteer Banquet hosted by Community Partner, McCrite Plaza. Outstanding volunteer service and Volunteer of the Year are recognized.
